Wie zich de moeite neemt tot deze cd door te dringen, wordt gul beloond. Al helpt het wel als je liefhebber bent van Palace, Velvet Underground of Yo la Tengo. Bands met een andere status dan Templo Diez, dat zeker, maar met dezelfde experimenteerdrift als deze Parijs-Haagse verrassing. De Franse frontman Pascal Hallibert had al eens succes toen hij met het eveneens Haagse Miss Wyoming de finale haalde van de Grote Prijs van Nederland 2001. Maar om succes is het Templo Diez niet te doen. Die willen mooie platen maken waar je wat voor moet doen. Dat is met Hoboken aardig gelukt.

Who gets into this CD is rewarded with gold. All the more if you're a fan of Palace, Velvet Underground or Yo La Tengo, bands more famous than Templo Diez of course, but with the same urge for experimentation as this surprising act from the Hague and Paris. French frontman Pascal Hallibert already met success as he reached the finals of the Grote Prijs van Nederland 2001 (Dutch national music competition) with Miss Wyoming. But success is not the true goal of Templo Diez. They want to make beautiful records that actively involves the listener. With Hoboken, they succeeded nicely.
